The Board of Directors is actively involved in trying to make a long range plan of how CHCID's drinking water infrastructure should change and improve over the next 10 to 15 years. Key elements that affect this plan are;
The Board of Directors role is to imagine how the District is likely to develop as it builds out and define a general infrastructure plan that supports that vision. The build out plan includes points like future levels of water consumption, where larger pipes will be needed, where larger meters will be needed and a rough estimate of the cost to implement the plan.
The Board also has to determine how to pay for the improvements through a combination of impact fees, loans, grants, and price increases.
Once the plan comes together it will be time to retain an engineering firm to perform a complete design, schedule, and cost estimate.
The following documents are by no means final, but they do describe what the Board has been talking about lately and provide a reference point for future discussions.
If you have comments on the plan the best way to make them is to come to a Board Meeting. You can also make comments by email or by talking to a Board member.
