Scope of work: Residential Water Meter Service piping is that part of the domestic water delivery system between the water main and the customer’s service connection. It shall be composed of the following:Service Saddle Connection, Corporation Cock, Copper Piping, Curb Stop, Meter, Meter Double Check Valve, Meter Box and Cover. All material shallcomplywith AWWA standardsand M.A.G. Specificationsusing new undamaged material. All domestic water services piping from the main to the meter shall be a minimum of 1” Type “K” soft copper pipe. Piping shall be installed in such a manner as to prohibit kinking and undue stress placed upon pipe, pipe joints and fittings. There will be no joint connections in the supply piping between the corporation stop and the curb stop. Where street crossings are required all service piping in the street shall be installed in a 3” non-ferrous schedule 40 sleeve.
Meter boxes shall be of a sufficient size as to contain the curb stop, water meter, double check and discharge connection and be readily accessible. Meter boxes shall where possible, be installed at a front corner of the property at the property line. They shall be installed high enough and with sufficient elevation and berm so as to remain dry during irrigation of the served and adjacent properties. Meter boxes shall not be installed in driveways or high traffic areas.
Submittals: Prior to starting construction the contractor shall submit to CHCID Engineering 5 copies of all material product sheets, the contractor proposes to use on the project. CHCID shall return to the contractor 3 copies within ten business days and a letter of acceptance or rejection.

Service Saddle Connection: Shall be a: 1” tapped saddle as manufactured by Mueller H 13491-330 6.9’’ 200 PSI or approved equal.
Corporation Cock: shall be a 1” brass valve, as manufactured by: Mueller B-25028 or approved equal.
Copper Piping: shall be 1” type “K” soft copper.
Curb Stop: Shall be angle pattern valve, as manufactured by Mueller B-24258 or approved equal.
Meter: Shall be a 5/8” x ¾” as manufactured by: PM Performance Water Meter Corp Model PMN-02 or approved equal.
Meter Double Check: Shall be ¾” as manufactured by A Y McDonald Model 11-3NP- or approved equal.
Meter Box: Shall be a Number 1 box of concrete with metal lid or approved equal.
